public folder contacts link on Intranet

    Question

  • We are looking to provide users a link on our Intranet to access to a company phone book (public contact folder).  I can create a link to the public folder and post on the Intranet, but users would be prompted to log into outlook.  Can this be accomplished even though a lot of our users are without a network/outlook account?  People will be accessing kiosks to access the information.

  • Hello,

Per my knowledge, you cannot do that.

If you use URL to directly access the public folder, the FBA webpage will appear for authentication, you need input the credential to access the public folder.

Why not use SharePoint server to share the company phone book, I think this is a better way to do as your required.

    Thanks,

    Evan
