Managing Full Access Permisions - Some Controls arent valid

    Question

  • 2010 exchange SP1

I moved a mailbox from 2003 to 2010. Now when I try to "Manage Full Access Permissions" I get a error saying  -

Some Controls Arent Valid.  -Changes to the user/group list are required to grant or remove permissions.

I have check to make sure the inherant permissions box is checked on the security tab in AD.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

Try to use the PS, and tell us what's the result:

This example grants user Ted Bremer full access to user Ellen Adam's mailbox

Add-MailboxPermission -Identity "Ellen Adams" -User TedBrem -AccessRights Fullaccess -InheritanceType all

    Best regards

  • Thanks for the help.  Here is what I receive when running the command:

WARNING: The appropriate access control entry is already present on the object "CN=SurgeryFax,OU=Fax Users,OU=NOH
    Users,OU=NOH,DC=NEBRORTHO,DC=LOCAL" for account "NEBRORTHO\dmalmstrom".

So the issue seems to have dissappearded.  The users was already added and I can now add users, not sure what happened.
