exchange 2010 move user RequestGuid couldn't be found on <DC>

    Question

  • Hi All,

I seem to be getting the below error while moving a user from an Exchange 2007 server mailbox DB to a Exchange 2010sp1 Mailbox DB.
I also can seem to find any information on the net pertaining to this error.

We have just started moving users over to the new environment.
Some users have moved over correctly already but, we are getting a few that give a few complications as such.

  • Hi,
Can you start the moverequest again with the verbose parameter and post the output?

The operation couldn't be performed because object 'RequestGuid (aa713b45-9be8-4365-bb17-e21407597a70), RequestQueue: (

I ran the query again using PS so that i can use a high number for the Bad Item Limit.

    Above is the output.

You can also try and add specify a DC
    new-moverequest <USER> -domaincontroller differentGC.thefuelgroup.com -verbose

Easiest way, Use ADUC, enable the security tab under View/Advanced Features. Then for those accounts, check the security tab, advanced button, then verify inheritance is enabled.

  • Hi Guys,

    Thanks for the quick responces.

I check the permissions and the inheritance was enabled.

I then re-ran the CMDlet with a different DC selected and the -verbose switch.
    Below is the output.
I still get the same error at the end of it.
    sorry for the log post.

  • How many 2010 CAS do you have?

Have you been able to move other accounts from the same OU?

Does the user have any Outlook rules?

Is there anything in common about the mailboxes you cant move?

What Rollup version is Exchange 2010?

  • I would consider upgrading to the latest (SP1 RU5)

If this is the only mailbox, it may be easier to simply export the entire mailbox to a pst and recreate on the 2010 side and import the pst back in.

  • Hi All,

I decided to take this error for this 1 user and place it in the WTF pile.

We started doing the final migrations today.
we have about 500 users that need to be moved over.

I got 12 more of these errors when doing the first wave of the migrations.
Below is 3 examples of the error.

The only common thing i can see is the DC from where the error is coming from.

  • Hi,

Please try to remove move request and then check the issue again.

Besides, please try to use DCdiag to see if any error would occur. You can try to force DC replication and then check the issue again.

  • Hi,

Please try to update the Exchange Server to the latest version which is sp1 with rollup5.

Beside, if any failed when  you run dcdiag from Exchange Server.

  • We have run the updates for the exchange already.
