Exchange Management Console , Access denied error

    Question

  • Hi,

When i open the Exchange Management console I get the Access denied error on Exchange Server 2010. I have already tried the steps in the following link

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchange2010/thread/8f9a1881-d66d-4d8a-a6ff-06729a701999

But the thread doesn't apply to my case...since from the following paragraph

    "

If you see BuildToBuildUpgrade on the RoleInstallationMode line, then a previous installation failure has caused this issue and the steps below should resolve it. If you see Install in the RoleInstallationMode line, do not perform the steps below. Your issue may have another cause. Start a new thread  and we’ll help you investigate your issue."

I see install in the RoleInstallationMode. Just an FYI, this is not a new installation it was working until 2 days ago...but then i was trying to enable kerberos authentication for active sync and now i can't login to the Exchange server even after i have undone all the configuration i did for kerberos Auth...Appreciate any help on this..

    Thanks,

    -Vik.

  • Hi Vik,

    Sorry for dealying response.

Please post the full error message here when you open the EMC or EMS.

Please check whether there is any related error event in the Event Viewer.

  • Thanks Frank...but i am not seeing the issue now, mostly likely the check to enable kerberos auth in IIS (for active sync server) must have fixed this issue.
