SMTP address of a user was changed.

    Question

  • In my environment a users smtp address was changed 1 month back.

I would like to know if there is as a powershell command to find when and smtp address for a user changed in exchange 2007 and who changed the address?

  • On 2007 no you wont be able to work this out unless you are doing auditing at the Active Directory level (there are several decent third party Active Directory Auditing applications but most of these are agent based and track changes for you or they interpret Ad audit logs if auditing in enabled). There are also a number of system level operations eg address policy apply that could modify the email address so this may not be accurate.

In 2010 you can track this by using administrative auditing which is a pretty cool feature http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335052.aspx
