    Dear Doreenng,

Based your conversation, I understand that you want to archive e-mail from Exchange Server 2003 automatically. You also want to know whether Exmerge can do that?

Based on my research, there are many avenues to archive e-mail in Exchange, such as event sink, e-mail journal.

For more information about event sink, please refer to the following article:

For more information about e-mail journal, please refer to the following article:

Also, you can do that via Exmerge tool. However this tool has its limitations, such as Exmerge currently only supports 2GB .pst file.

For more information about Exmerge, please refer to the following article:

Error message when you use the ExMerge tool to export an Outlook 2003 mailbox to a .pst file: "The item could not be moved"

If anything is unclear, feel free to let me know.

  • We are talking about saving and deleting from mailboxes, or just storing another copy of all emails of all users? The second can be done quite easily.

If it's ok, then yes, you can use Exmerge with scheduled task. But this doesn't deletes from mailbox the exported emails.
