    On Exchange Server :

    Event ID:1113
The Unified Messaging server failed to exchange the required certificates with an IP gateway to enable Transport Layer Security (TLS) for an incoming call. Check that this is a configured TLS peer and that the correct certificates are being used. More information: A TLS failure occurred because the remote end disconnected while TLS negotiation was in progress. The error Code was -2146233088 and the message was Unknown error (0x80131500).

    Event ID: 1088
The IP gateway or IP-PBX "ocs-server.amfco.net" did not respond to a SIP OPTIONS request from the Unified Messaging server. The error code that was returned is "0" and the error text is ":Unable to establish a connection.".

    On Client system running MOC:

We are trying to implement a voice email in our pilot project, but unable to perform a voice email from moc to another sip user due to above mentioned error.

We tried our level best to fine tune the certificate section on Exchange Server but no success.

Anybody who can give his expert comments to resolve this issue.

    Eagerly looking for response.

  • Hi Shahmeer,

As I can understand you try to deploy voice email, and you receive the error that you described on exchange server.

    First Error:
    ***********
    Event Type: Warning
    Event Source: MSExchange Unified Messaging
    Event Category: UMService
    Event ID: 1113
Description: The Unified Messaging server failed to exchange the required certificates with an IP gateway to enable Transport Layer Security (TLS) for an incoming call. Please check that this is a configured TLS peer and that the correct certificates are being used. More information: A TLS failure occurred because the target name that was specified in the certificate is incorrect. The error code was "1" and the message was “Incorrect function".

This issue resolved with Update Rollup 4 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1, but now we have Update Rollup 1 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 2, so proceed to apply the Update Rollup 1 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 2.

    Second Error:
    *************
    Event ID: 1088
The IP gateway or IP-PBX "ocs-server.amfco.net" did not respond to a SIP OPTIONS request from the Unified Messaging server. The error code that was returned is "0" and the error text is ": Unable to establish a connection.".

To resolve this error you must enable Windows Authentication for the Exchange UM Web site of CAS Server.

    ü      Windows Authentication

ü      Configure Windows Authentication (IIS 7)

    Regards
