I'm using Outlook 2003 for all my users, but when I try to set up email signatures, I create the new email and reply email signatures ok, but when I go to reply to a message, my signature does not appear. When I go to create a new email, the signature is there. The signature is just a jpeg image. I don't have Word 2003 installed, I only have Word 2000, so I am not sure if this is the reason why I am having this problem.
Also, when any Word or Excel document is sent with the image header in it, i.e. company logo, the logo is stripped out of the document and only the text remains. Does anyone know why this would be occuring?
Please open Outlook and go to Tools>Options>Mail Format
Under Signature, make sure that the signature that you are using is selected under “Signature for new mails” and “Signature for replies and forwards”
Click on OK, and try to forward or reply to any message and let me know if the same issue persists?
Please try to open outlook in safe mode and check if the same behavior persists? You can do the same by typing “outlook /safe” in the run box and then hit enter.
Also try to create a new outlook profile and see if the issue persists? To create a new outlook Profile, please go to control panel and then click on Mail. Click on Show Profiles. Select “Prompt for a profile to be used”. Then click on Add and create a new profile.
Configure the new profile with your email client and then check if the same issue persists?
You can also check whether the issue is with any kind of signature(i.e. plain text without a picture) or only with signatures with pictures.

I created test signatures with images and text only. When I have selected the image signature to be used for the Reply, nothing is shown, however, when I select the text only signature for the Reply, the signature is shown. Can you think of any reason why this is happening? The image signature appears fine for New emails.
As you said that the issue is only with inserting pictures, please have a check if you are able to see pictures in Word 2003 or are you having the same issue?
If you are not able to see inserted pictures in Word as well, then please uncheck the option “Picture PlaceHolder” under Tools>Options>View in Word 2003. Let me know if this helps?
