  • Hi Jessica,

I would like to provide some suggestion to you:

1 Disconnected and reconnected the mailbox.

2 Downloaded and Installed the Service pack 1

3 Switch Outlook to Online view, delete and recreated the Unread search folder.

    Best Regards!

  • We have the latest service pack and Windows Updates installed on our 2010 Exchange Environment.

I can try to disconnect the mailbox and reconnect it. I haven't done that in 2010 yet

How do I switch Outlook to Online view... they only use OWA

How do I delete and recreate the Unread Search Folder?

  • Disconnecting and Reconnecting the mailbox did not help when I log into OWA and select the group I still receive the same error.

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

  • I made sure that the login for this account had full access to the mailbox and it does.

  • Hi Jessica,
The user account should not have FullMailboxAccess, but SELF should.

Also, make sure that interitance is checked on the user account in ADUC (Security Tab| Advanced).

  • Can you check if there is a problem with this group using Outlook?
Is the user able to create a new group using OWA?

  • it is a group that the user created via owa 2003 and it was working fine until we moved her mailbox to Exchange 2010 ... the group is not accessible even if the mailbox is accessed via the outlook client.

it's a personal distribution list not a global list

  • It really sounds like this item is corrupt and I don´t have a clue on why that happend when you moved the mailbox from EX03>EX10.

    Was it new-mailboxrepairrequest you ran?
Have you tried moving this mailbox to a different database?

  • I agree totally I do believe it is corrupt I just have to at least be able to say that I tried everything :-(

I did try the New-MailboxRepairRequest and that didn't seem to make any difference.

I have not tried to move it to a new store we try to keep our store accounts separate from corporate accounts but i could try that this evening.

I also am trying to export it to PST but the New-MailboxExportRequest command is not recognized by my exchange servers... so i am not completely sure what to do.

  • Here is a goog blog post that explains how to use new-mailboxexportrequest to create a PST file. http://www.stevieg.org/tag/new-mailboxexportrequest/
You need to create a new ManagementRoleassignment (Mailbox Import Export)

  • I had not closed the management shell after I applied the ROle change... :-(

Now the export is at least working.

Going to try to open the PST file in Outlook and see if the distribution group is still broken and if it is then my conclusion is that it is corrupt
