Exchange 2010 Hangs at Applying Computer Settings

    Question

  • Hi

I have installed Exchange 2010 Mailbox Role on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise edition. After installing i have rebooted the machine, but the system stuck at Applying operating system..

I tried to disable IPV6 from registry and enable from network settings - but no luck

Un-installed all Windows server 2008 Patchs and Exchange rollup 4 but no luck.

Is there any bug with windows server 2008 Enterprise or Exchange 2010.

However i am able to install HUB/CAS on Windows server 2008 Standard with out any issues.

Please suggest me how do i proceed further.

    Thanks

    Venkat

  • Not a known issue that is happening around, it should be related to OS boot up on my guess. Check event log as mentioned by Joe. If you got an extra system, build a new one server and install mailbox again, it should be running fine.

  • Dear Venkat,

It should have an error in the Windows system or application event log, please check.   My practice sequence is to install CAS/HUB server, then mailbox server. I have installed over more 20 servers but don't have any issue on it.
