Change Mailbox Database

    Question

  • Hi,

How to change or assign mailbox database of a exchange user on exchange 2007 SP2.

It'll be better if any one can give power-shell script.

  • Hi,

Do you want to connect  a disconnected mailbox to another user?

If you just want to create a new mailbox for a user, you can simply disable the user's mailbox from Exchange Management Console and then create a new one.

If you want to connect a disconnected mailbox to a user, please refer the following exchange scripts:

Scenario: John left your company and his mailbox is disabled. You want to connect John's mailbox to Thomas:

    1. Disable-mailbox -Identity Thomas

One Active Directory directory service user object can only have one mailbox, so you first need to disable Thomas’s current mailbox if he is a mailbox enabled user..

    2. Connect-Mailbox -Database "Mailbox Database" -Identity John -user Thomas

Connect a John's disconnected mailbox to Thomas.
