Difference between Exchange 2007 and 2010

    Question

  • Hello,

I want to know what are the differences between Exchange 2007 & 2010, i mean what was missing in 2007 which is addresses in 2010. Both from Administrator point of view and client point of view. How admins are going to benefit from 2010 and how clients will see changes in their outlook 2010 because of Exchange 2010?

  • Wow...this is a big topic and Exch 2010 is a major version difference with new technology and features spread throughout the product.  Here are some links to get you started:

  • Hi Hasan,

Please note the differences mentioned below: -

    1. Exchange 2007 requires at least Windows 2000 where as Exchange 2010 requires Windows 2003.

    2. Exchange 2007 supports both 32 bits and 64 bits of Windows where as Exchange 2010 supports only 64 bit.

    3. Exchange 2007 supports 50 storage groups where as Exchange 2010 does not support storage groups. It supports Mailbox Databases up to 100.

These are the very basic differences.

    Regards
