Associating private key to installed trial certificate

    Question

  • Hi,

We want to check out how the trail certificate works for our already published OWA. Right now we are using a self generated certificate.

We took a trial certificate from GeoTrust and installed in our Cas server. The private key for the same is in a txt document and we want to associate the same to the installed certificate. Can you please guide us on how to go around the same.

    Thanks

    Hi Prasad,

I would suggest you contact GeoTrust directly.

  • It's recommended to use 3rd part UC/SAN certificates, or else you will have to setup and maintain a PKI infrastructure

Here are some instructions for the generate and installation process for the certificate

  • Hi,

What version of Exchange are you using?

How did you generate the CSR?

And what services did you assign?

  • Hi Frank,

We tried to contact GeoTrust but are unable to get any response from them.

Basicaly, the reason for us to do this excersie is becasue we want to configure Outlook Anywhere. We recently shifted our mail server from our US location to inhouse. The consultant who is trying to configure Outlook Anywhere for us says that we need to have a external certificate installed. Our OWA is already working with internally generated certificate.

Is it really required for us to buy a certifcate for Outlook Anywhere. As per the consultant, he cannot generate internal certificates anymore.

    Please advise.
