  • I can't tell you that it does not have a problem for sure. but it does show that you are accessesing the autodiscover site. However if you had a cert error and maybe multiple prompts or event a single prompt you may still have issues depending on how you are configured. But the autodiscover virtual directory appears to be working as expected.

what problem are you having that made you check that?

  • So it depends on how your DNS is configured if you run split DNS which now a days you pretty much have to. then you do not have to have any of the internal names on the Certificate.

Split DNS means you have an internal DNS zone for your external Name space. and you put in all of your internal IP's and external IP's and names for that space in manually to be sure clients can go to the right place.

  • OK so first think is you need to have a A record for autodiscover.tt.com pointing to the external IP of the CAS, When you go to autodiscover.tt.com does it give you a cert error? before the prompt?

  • This means that you do not have the Root cert from your Certificate authority in your trusted root store. I know you said you put the Cert in the store. but was it the cert you issued to Exchange? You need to be sure you have the proper root certificate on you machine.

    22 Juni 2012 23:14
  • Easiest way is go to your CA web page and I believe you should see download Root certificate. Download it. then open an MMC by going to the run command and type MMC then add in the certificate store. when it prompts say local computer then find the trusted root certificate folder. then right click and say import find the file you downloaded from your CA and import it in.

then close IE and open it backup and try https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml and see if you recieve a cert error if it goes away then you should be able to start outlook and see if that works better.

  • your root is what is causing the problem. right now if you go to domain.com from the internet it accepts 443. and that is causing you part of your problem.

  • And it actually answers for autodiscover. So go to https://yourdomain.org/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml

And tell me what it does. I am looking up the regkey to change outloook autodiscover behaviour now to get you past this.

  •  now you will only want to do this for a test. but it should work.

You may have to create the registry key. but what this is doing is telling outlook not to use the root domain. once you test it if it works. Then the real fix is making what ever website is responsible for answering on https://domain.com not answer on that address. hope that helps.

Click Start, click Run, and then type regedit.

    2. Navigate to the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\AutoDiscover

    3. Set the following values for the Value Names listed below:
    "ExcludeHttpsRootDomain"=dword:1

  • Hi

if i decide to buy a certificate from third party and i have local domain name different for external domain

should i buy certificate for single domain or certificate for Multiple domain

Thank u for all your help

  • By it for multiple names not domains. you will want autodiscover.domain.com, and mail.domain.com listed. with Mail.domain.com being the primary.

  • Hello,

    Internal autodiscover access Https://ExchangeFQDN/autodiscover/autrodiscover.xml.

    External autodiscover access Https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autrodiscover.xml.

Error 600 is an expected behavior. However, it may also notice whether there are certificate issue when accessing the url in IE.

    Thanks,

    Simon
