Dag IP address question

    Pertanyaan

  • I have a 2 server dag. mb1 10.0.3.61, mb2 10.0.3.62.

The dag ip address is static 10.0.3.68. DagNetwork02 is 10.12.3.x.

I use bginfo display the ip addresses on the desktop of both servers.

The bginfo display on mb1 shows 10.0.3.61,10.0.3.68

The bginfo display on mb2 shows only 10.0.3.62.

Why does the dag ip address show up on only one of the mailbox servers?

I have active databases on both servers.

  • Hi,

the DAG IP address is used by the cluster group. This group is only active on one server at the time. If you move this group you will see the IP address disappear on one server and appear on the other.

  • How do you move the group from one server to another?

What other methods are there to see which server has the active cluster group?

  • Hi,

    From a command pronmpt:

    cluster group "Cluster Group" /move

The Failover cluster manager should tell you on which server the cluster group is active.
