static mapping

    Question

  • hi everybody

     

    is there is a static mapping in isa 2004

    which mean i need to creat rules to allow

     customers write real ip address x.x.x.1 ----it will be mapped to ---- the virtual fixed ip of the internal server 172.x.x.1

    and x.x.x.2 ------172.x.x.2

    and so on

     

    could something like that  occure in isa 2004

    Yes sure, this is called Publishing

     

    but what do u want to publish ?  a web server ? and ftp server ? a non web server ? exchange server ? sharepoint server ?

    Yes, this is how say SMTP is published through ISA to an internal SMTP server.

  • As an aside, NO - you cannot use specific NATs for outbound traffic. For example, if you have a number of external ip addresses available, you cannot select different addresses for different rules. It only works within publishing rules, as mentioned above.
