FCS and MOM

    Question

  • Doen FCS needs MOM 2005 for reporting? I've read that for reporting all clients must have mom agent.

My problem is that in our network we hane operation manager 2007, is it possible to configure it for forefront?

We don't want to buy another mom only for fcr reporting.

    Thanks

    Hi,

MOM2005 is an integrated part of FCS Management and if you want to be able to centraly manage it, you will need to install FCS Management server which includes MOM2005.

it does not require MOM2005 licenses of any kind and anything is included inside the FCS licenses. on the other hand, you of course cannot use this MOM infrastrcture for anything else besides FCS.

If you already have a MOM or SCOM infrastrcture in your organization, they have no problem to co-exist.

If its MOM, you'll need to run a wizard on each computer that has a MOM agent and "multi-home" it.

If its SCOM, you don't have to do anything. both agents can co-exist together on the same computer.

any way, you do not need to buy any other mom components in order to use FCS.
