ISA 2006 firewall client on Win 7 x64

    Question

  • Hi,

We would like to use Windows 7 on some machines, but we have found a problem with the ISA firewall client. The client doesn't connect with internet. The configuration is fine, it points to the ISA server.

All our other clients on Windows XP are working fine with the firewall client, it's just all the Windows 7 machines that don't connect to internet.

It's a Windows 7 64-bit machine (could the 64 bit be the problem?)

When I change the LAN settings on the client machine (in IE7) and check the checkbox from proxyserver, and assign ISA server then it works fine, but after a reboot, the configuration is unchecked again.

Does anyone have the same problem or perhaps a solution?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi,

Firewall client is supported on Windows 7 64 Bit:

The problem must be another. Have you checked the event viewer on the client machine? Did you try it with another Windows 7 client? Do you se the newest version of the FWC?

  • Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

Just like Marc said, Firewall client can be installed on Windows 7(64bit). I want to know whether the firewall client can be installed on Windows 7 successfully? If you click the “detect now” on the firewall client settings, do you receive any error message?
