SharePoint 2010 Forms Based Authentication with UAG

    Question

  • I have tried following Andreas guide from here to set up FBA for SharePoint 2010 that is published through UAG 2010 SP3. Active Directory authentication works fine through UAG, and subsequent authentication to SharePoint works with both FBA and AD credentials. The error I get when trying to authenticate on the UAG using FBA is below:

An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator.

If you are the system administrator please click here to find out more about this error.

    Any suggestions for troubleshooting?

  • I was able to get it working, for some reason the .INC file wasn't saved appropriately and the passwords in SQL needed to be clear text, rather than hashed.

  • I had LOTS of issues when using that guide...it DOES NOT work in a lot of situations...like the April 2012 Hotifx breaks IP forms functionality...i was told by MS to totally disregard that article...it isnt a ms article...he says to use"Other Web Application" in UAG config...that is wrong...use the "SharePoint 2010"  template...the stuff about the formular engine seems ok tho
