FIM 2010 Reporting

    Question

  • Hello everyone,

i'd like to have some basic reporting for my FIM 2010 installation, and i do not want to install SCSM to be able to have those reports

from my understanding i can use SQL reporting services, so the question is there some kind of pack or guide or anything that can help me out with that ?

    thanks

  • Hi Hitch,

It all depends on what you want to report on.
It is possible to only use SQL Reporting. I've done this on several occasions.

There is a second option: using the reporting tool Splunk (http://www.splunk.com)
This is a 'free' stand-alone reporting solution for all kind of datasources.

OCG created a Splunk for FIM app (http://apps.splunk.com/app/1463/).
This app contains oob reporting on the FIM Service AND the FIM Sync Service.

There are reports on performance, portal changes, sync performance etc.
Another section creates overviews on FIM / AD comparisons.
There is also a 'time-machine' option, which alows you to view historical data on an user or group.

    Any questions, just ask!

  • Hello,

hmm the only thing i have on my mind is Carols Request Log Archiving.

With this and some nice View on the mms_metaverse you could start with maybe some easy Reports on your own. We do the MV Reporting for some Team lists with member and Team Admins and Dispatchers.

I think the default SSRS docu could help you on how to build the first easy reports, its not that complicated but a long time ago i did this.

Maybe others have more to share.

    Regards
    Peter
