migrating from exchange 2003 to 2010 coexistence
-
vendredi 16 mars 2012 15:25we've had a problem where the MaxRecipientEnvelopeLimit in exchange 2010 appears to have overridden the msExchRecipLimit limit in exchange 2003. we've got it sorted now, but i would like to know if anyone is aware of similar situations, where the attribute name has changed and can affect the existing 2003 installation?

The recipient limit behavior changed with Exchange 2007 and the default values are different between 2003, 2007 RTM, 2007 SP1+, & 2010

Hi Jason,
Thanks for this. i've got that one, thanks - unfortunately my question is far more vague - are you aware of any similar cases where a setting in exchange 2010 will override the exchange 2003 setting in a heterogeeous environment? it's a bit of a long shot, i know.

I think a couple setting are shared in the AD, so if you set it in 2010 EMC\EMS then 2003 will use it.
This article covers the message size limits in 2007/2010 and mentions where they are different and shared with 2003:
