    I have rebooted server, rebooted Windows Sharepoint Service Timer, changed to automatic incoming mail, and switched back to manual

    ----------

    Tried restarting the service from CLI

    stsadm.exe -o provisionservice -action stop -servicetype "Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPIncomingEmailService, Microsoft.SharePoint, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c"

    stsadm.exe -o provisionservice -action start -servicetype "Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPIncomingEmailService, Microsoft.SharePoint, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c"

    iisreset /noforce

    ----------

    tried clearing the sharepoint cache

    ------------

    Removed messages from queue, and only put two back in, didn't work

    Reset the time status to 1 minute, I see the under Timer Job Status it is running, but it is not processing the email

      Hi,

      Did you check ULS logs? There should be some relevant entries for this error.

      If not then check the same.  Also check if the timer services are running in all servers in your farm.

        Steven,

        You can try to disable the Incoming Email timer job in "timer job definition" restart the timer job service and then enable it. Not so sure if It helps you, but it helps me.

        By, how did you re-schedule the timer to be 1 min?

            Used the ULS event view to view the logs.

            Found that the email was not being processed due to

            An error occurred while processing the incoming e-mail file C:\Inetpub\mailroot\drop\17c69c6f01ccebee00000579.eml. The error was: Unknown alias..
