Hi there,
I am not able to upgrade from sql server 2008 r2 (Sp2) over to sql server 2012. One of the tHe upgrade rules are failing due to the follwing reason:
Rule “SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 or later is required For upgrade.” Failed. The SQL Server 2008 R2 Features that have been selected to be upgraded to SQL
Server 2012 are not at the required service pack. To continue with this upgrade, install SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 2 or later to the selected instance and the sharedFeatures.
Interestingly enough I have sql server 2008 r2 SP2 installed and that test passes. I am at an impasse, and not sure how to proceed.
Any help is appreciated. This seems like a bug in the install.
Thanks,
Rakesh

Hello,
Maybe not all the components of that SQL Server instance have SP2 applied. Run a discovery report:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/petersad/archive/2009/11/13/sql-server-2008-discovery-report.aspx
I would try to apply SP2 again or apply SP3, and then try to perform the upgrade again.
Hope this helps.Regards,
