Runbook Automations Activities stuck in Pending date after Review Activity rejection

I've rejected a bunch of service requests that contained review and runbook automation activities and now those automation activities are stuck in pending state. The SRs are now all status failed.
Firstly, how can I get rid of the runbook activities and secondly, if the reviewers reject the SR and the SR goes to a failed state, shouldn't the runbook activities follow suite?

Theoretically, yes. You can create a console task to "unlock" those Activities into a "cancelled" status. Technically, if you "Reject" the approval activity it should go into a "Rejected" state, not failed. But I could wrong. In any event, if you want to use a console task with powershell to change the status of those activities from Pending to Cancelled or something, follow my blog post here on how to do that:
