I installed windows 7 RC at Dell 1500 laptop as a dual boot with windows xp. I could not install the Hardware accelerator and the video card from the driver cd using the windows vista drivers, whereas the audio drivers etc loaded fine. What do I have to do to install these as this is spoiling the video look (its very grainy) and the games are not loading. Also I need to know about the virtual cd installment in windows 7.

    Thanks a lot Alex!!!

You are right that I have a vostro 1500 and core2duo with nVidia video card but when I tried the dell site for this drivers the downloaded drivers from that site were not opening in windows 7. So I tried that nVidia site you suggested and their 64 bit driver works fine with my comp.

    Ankhi,

The only Dell notebook I was able to find which came in a "1500" model number designation is the Vostro - is that your computer?

If so, I'd recommend downloading the newest available drivers for your video card model from the page linked above, and installing them in compatibility mode for Windows Vista. To do this, right click on the program .exe and open the Properties menu, then navigate to the compatibility tab and select "Run this program in compatibility mode for..."

If, in fact, you have an nVidia video card (as seems like a possible configuration for your notebook model), you can install the newest Windows 7 drivers from here .
