sony vaio fn keys not working

jeudi 24 mai 2012 20:50i have a sony vaio vgn-fw245j. i just re installed windows 7 because my computer stopped working. i went to the driver page and installed all of the windows 7 64bit updates and drivers. now some of the fn keys don't work and some extra buttons don't work ( the screen brightness doesn't work. magnify doesn't work. the extra keys are a sound increase and decrease, a s1, pause/play, stop, rewind, fast forward, and a av mode) now before i have been going to the wrong update page and been getting updates form the vgn-fw200 page. and when i installed all of the updates there it fixes it. now i tried installing all of the 200 updates and the 245j updates and nothing

Go to the following link and pick your operating system and look under the Notebook Control and Utilities section. Look for the Vaio Launcher Software. Probably wouldn't hurt to install all 3 files in that section. See if it helps.
This might be a stupid question but doesn't your computer have a hidden partition to set it back to factory specs? Here is the link on how to do that. You will lose everything on your C drive as the procedure will format it.

Hi,To uninstall the wrong updates and drivers manually, then install the correct drivers.
If the issue persists, you may clean install Windows and update drivers one by one.
