mardi 12 juin 2012 14:36Can I install Windows server 2008 trial version on my Windows 7 machine (32bit)? Does it mean that I will have two operating system running at the same time once the trial version is installed? How do I switch between two OS? Also, it looks like the Windows server 2008 R2 won't work on my machine since it runs on a 64bit machine. Is it correct? Thank you.

You have to use a virtualization software like Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 SP1 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24439) or Oracle VirtualBox (http://www.virtualbox.org) to create a virtual machine in which you will install Windows Server 2008 R2.
Your CPU must support 64 bit operating systems (i.e. you need to have a 64 bit processor), so tou have to check for such a support in the CPU's documentation.Bye.

That's incorrect for VPC2007, as it does not support and never has supported 64bit OSes.
Windows 2008 will work on VPC2007 (not supported on Windows 7) or Windows VPC.
