Virtual PC 2007 has disabled live resolution switching

Hi everyone,
I am trying to run an older Windows 98 based game (with a resolution of 680x480), so for that I installed Virtual PC 2007 with SP1. I then installed a Windows 98 (gold edition) virtual machine. The resolution seems to be fine, i.e. I can set it to True color 32-bit. However whenever I try and run the game, the virtual machine crashes and I get the following message :
The guest operating system has changed the resolution. Some programs require specific resolutions to run properly. In order to maintain compatibility,
Virtual PC has disabled live resizing of the virtual machine window until the virtual machine restarts. However this problem seems to persist even after the virtual machine restarts. I've tried to manually set the resolution of the virtual machine to 680x480 with 256 colors - this however doesn't trigger the resize but the system just hangs. Any suggestions ? (My system):
Host OS: Vista SP2
RAM : 2gb
Graphics : (integrated GMA 950)
Guest OS: WIndows 98 (First Editon)
Allocated Ram: 512MB

First, try reducing your RAM, you probably don't need 512MB for Win98. Try 64MB, 128MB.
What is the game? Does it require 3d hardware acceleration (if so, its not going to work)

Hi,
It seems you cannot enable live resolution switching. Please refer to this blog.
