authorize a DHCP server in AD DS

lundi 26 mars 2012 18:13I have installed a new AD DC in a forest so far everything is working great except my new DC is not authorized to be a dhcp, does the main DC in the forest have to authorize the new dc to be a dhcp server in the new site or am i doing something wrong

Hello,
after installing the DHCP server role have you opened the DHCP management console and checked/authorized the server?

You need to right-click the DHCP Scope then Authorize the scope with AD through this process.

To authorise DHCP server You need to be a Enterprise administrator group. I think your account does not have this. So ask the person who has this access to authorize the DHCP server.
Note - Only one Enterprise administrator group will be available in entire forest.
