How to control the ToS for ICMP packets (generated by CMD or FPING.exe) on Windows 2008 platfrom?

Question:
The wizard lets you control TCP/UDP or both protocols. What about ICMP? How to control the DCSP value on ICMP packet? With the new TC/QoS API's and deprecated support for DisableUserTOSSetting, how can we achive it?

Hi Tiger,
Thanks for the response. Not sure how but some of the text from my question is missing. So, here is the story:
In the DCSP/QoS wizard, I do not see an option to control the DCSP ToS value for ICMP packets. The policy based QoS on Win 2008 lets you define it for TCP/UDP (basically layer 3) and applications (layer 4) but not L2 protocol (e.g. ICMP).
Any idea how can I use DSCP/QoS policy for ICMP traffic, generated by cmd or ping.exe (non-microsoft utility)?
This blog mentions one use of the wizard, for Layer 3/4 traffic:

I have referred following articles but failed to get the answer:
- Working with QoS Policies
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd759074.aspx - The Cable Guy
http://technet.microsoft.com/hi-in/magazine/2007.02.cableguy(en-us).aspx - Policy-based Quality of Service (QoS)
http://technet.microsoft.com/library/dd919203(WS.10).aspx
Since support for DisableUserTOSSetting registry key has been deprecated from Win Vista onwards, I find it a little complicated to achieve.
Thanks again for offerring help as this is the only place I expect the answer to come from.
Regards.

Hi,
Thanks for posting here.
After consulted with colleagues of mine, we believe the policy based QoS on Windows platform only supports UDP and TCP traffic.

Tiger,
Does that mean ICMP will not be covered and DisableUserTOSSetting has no affect in 2008. ANy alternative to add QOS bit to ICMP ??
