    I would be lead to believe that if you do not shut down your secondary services prior to restarting or shutdown, then the VM's would just get the rug pulled out. I am in a two week Server Core training class at my work right now and basically Server Core is like any other server just with a very limited GUI and a few other limitations. Not to say that it is impaired to the full fledged versions, just has a smaller attack surface.

    wow that really stinks if that is true. I have wsus running on it and it reboots at 3:00am. I was hoping core was smart enough to snapshot or gracefully shutdown servers when it reboots itself.

    Major design flaw if that is the case.
