    Hi,

    Thanks for your posting.

What happened to you Windows 2003 server before you run system repair?

How you perform the system repair, and what do you mean the second repair option?

    > before repair os application was working fine but

Which application and what’s the error, any error message or any related event logs?

Have you tried to start the computer by using the last know good configuration. When you use the Last Know Good Configuration feature, you start your computer by using the most recent settings that worked.

Like Lawrence ask, tell us what application give the error.

Any OS repair might bring back older DLL than your application need or missing registry key. If it's the case, then you need to re-install the pre-req, and your application again.

    Thx for Replay

I was using Symantec Backup Exe. it was working fine before repair win 2003.

Suddunly windows not able to start in normal mode....

so go with chkdsk which is first repair(pressing R) It couldn't start in normal mode.

after that i tried with Complete repair option(This option comes after first repair).

After complete repair by win server CD. I could log in Normal Mode

But My Symantec Application could not worked. other application is working fine.

I just want confirm that any application get damage after repaired os?

Not likely however, there are rare chances. When OS is repaired using installation media, corrupt files get replaced with legitimate ones.

Some of the applications might not work in this case until and unless certain dependent .dll files are re-registered.

You might want to try re-installing the faulting application (symantec, in this case) and see if that makes any difference.

    Hi,

    Agree with above posting.

After system repair, some files are replaced with old version, and you may miss some registry value.

Since OS is working normally, reinstall or repair the issue application. You can also contact the application support department for more information.
