Hi all,
I use SCCM to deploy definition updates but I have a feeling some clients are downloading through the second choice method UNC. Is there are log file I can look in to see what method is used?

Hi,
You can use log files and reports http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb693492.aspx

I used C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log to figure out that my FEP updates were coming direct from Microsoft in some circumstances, even though I had SCCM selected as the primary source and not to fallback for a few days. I would think that if the the updates are coming from a UNC share, this log should show the location.
Also, if you didn't already know about trace32.exe (available in the SCCM 2007 toolkit) it makes reading this normally huge log a lot easier than using something like notepad:

Hi Spooter,
Thank you for the post.
If your FEP clients update defintion via UNC share, it will log into file C:\Windows\Temp\MpCmdRun.log.
