I am unable to mount the master database see error

    --------------------------------------------------------
    Microsoft Exchange Error
    --------------------------------------------------------
    Failed to mount database 'EXCH1'.

    EXCH1
    Failed
    Error:
Database 'EXCH1' can't be mounted on server 'EXCHDAG1.THEBUS.ORG' due to a previous error: At '5/4/2012 6:59:58 PM' the Exchange store database

'EXCH1' copy on this server appears to be inconsistent with the active database copy or is corrupted. For more details about the failure, consult the

Event log on the server for other storage and "ExchangeStoreDb" events. A successful failover restored service.
Verify that the underlying cause of the error has been corrected before attempting to mount the database. The error can be ignored

and the mount allowed if Mount-Database is reissued with the -Force switch.

    --------------------------------------------------------
    OK

When reading the error message it looks like you had a failover of a database in a DAG that did not work correctly. Is this correct?

error message referer to another event at '5/4/2012 6:59:58 PM' , anything in the eventlog at that time?

    Hello,

I would agree with Lasse since it seems a failover of a database in your DAG.

The database was not active since it appears to be inconsistent with the active database copy or is corrupted.

First of all, check this database is active on a server.

Once done, fo to the server which is suspected to have a bad copy and check that the following services are running on it:

    • Microsoft Exchange Replication Service: When it is running, SAM on this server will function properly and report errors to your PAM
    • Microsoft Exchange Information Store: When it is started, your databases will not be able to be mounted

Please also check, the logs copy queue length and the logs replay queue length.

    Hi Peter

    Did you try above solution?

I suggest run repair (eseutil /p) on Non-Exchange server.

    Cheers

Your active DB seems to be fine, issue seems to be with the passive copy, what I suggest you do is remove the passive copy and create another copy, (reseed the DB) then do a switchover and test.

This should resolve the issue.  At this stage, I wouldn't run the /p.
