    Hi...

    I am  installing the FIM 2010 Update Rollup 2 on a new FIM installation with the SQL on a remote server. I get the errors that others have encountered...

    Error 25070.Error connecting to database FIMSynchronizationService. Invalid class string and then later Error 25009.Error

    I have followed suggestions to install the Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Native Client and to add SysAdmin to the Domain/Admin and FIMSyncService...

    Also tried to add TCP/IP and Named Pipes to Native Client but still not updating from the msp.

    Is there a way to get an error log? I am a bit of a noob at this so it could be something simple.....

    Make sure you install the correct version, you installed the 2012 native client?

    Follow this link:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3522

    And download the: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Native Client (64 bit)

    Thanks Paul

    I installed the 2012 version because I installed the SQL2012 database on the remote server. This is a brand new install so all the latest software is being used.

    that seems obvious to to, but the error you mentioned is usually resolved by installing the 2008 native client (because SQL 2008 is used).

    Hi Paul...  I get your point. I am not onsite until Monday but when I am I will downgarde SQL server to 2008 version and give it a go. Thanks for your help :-)

    Went with SQL 2008 R2 install with the 2008 Native Client... Works like a dream...
