How to move the files in a metadata navigationally filtered view from one library to another, all at once?

Hi, all-
My apologies if this has been I've seen it bandied about in a couple other questions on this site/forums, but I'm not sure I've seen a clear, end-user-accessible, out-of-box option....
So, a simple question: someone sends me a link to a filtered view to some files in their (document) library on a plain old Team site, showing maybe a few dozen or a hundred documents out of thousands in that library. How can I select just those files in that view, and copy/move them to another library? Send To seems to only allow one at a time, and Explorer view presents the entire library AND SharePoint custom columns are not available in Windows 7 (and vice versa), so there's no way to filter to achieve the same view. Search (Center) is not the question, I'm trying to use just a purely using a metadata-crafted view, not even going via Content and Structure (which also presents the library's entire undifferentiated contents for moving, if I understand it correctly). We are also not using folders, just Metadata (simple choice pop-downs).
It would be truly amazing if Microsoft overlooked this basic document managment functionality, or worse excluded it on purpose.... maybe I'm just missing something obvious? Wouldn't be the first time. :)
Thanks,
CF

Thank you for your understanding and support.

יום שני 16 אפריל 2012 17:51Thanks for your quick response, I'll keep checking in. To clarify, the broader question is just being able to select and move/copy multiple files at once within SharePoint (using Send To or something else), but using a filtered view link to see, select and move a few more than strictly necessary would be okay too. I know SharePoint doesn't seem to support downloading (copies of) multiple files at once from a library to one's computer or network, which is in itself also quite a frightening shortcoming, but being able to move(copy) multiple files to another library in SharePoint all at once would be the next best thing: from THERE of course, one could simply go to Explorer view in the recipient library for a mass download to a network drive. Also, in our situation a workflow to automatically or periodically move documents wouldn't be helpful, it's a "respond to quick-turnaround requests by finding things manually (but as smoothly and quickly as possible) and making copies outside SharePoint" situation. Thanks again, CF.

Hi Crucio Fossor,
If you have access to the site manager feature on the site you can move batches files to different document libraries very quickly while preserving its metadata. You can setup different views to filter out items as well. If you have access to it you should see it under Site Actions > Manage Content and Structure. If you don’t have access to it then you might not have enough rights to use it.
