Unanswered Roaming Profile logon issue

I have a problem logging on with my domain user account from a particular laptop (domain member) although I can logon ok from all other laptops and desktop computers in the same domain.  The message I get from the laptop is \\servername\foldername\username\Desktop refers to a location that is unavailable.............. "  We are using Roaming Profiles with folder redirection although I have extended the scope of the folders re-directed.  The environment is Windows7 on all user PCs and laptops with Windows Server 2008R2.  If I log on to the "faulty" laptop as domain administrator I log-in ok.  The same problem exists on this laptop for all domain users.  DHCP & DNS work fine and I can ping the server from the laptop.  I get a similar but inconsistent result if I try to log on as a domain user from a remote location so am wondering if this is a timing issue.

    Hello,

Maybe this is a connectivity issues or there is a security software / hardware component which is blocking such traffic. You can try to disable temporary all security softwares on the client computer and check results.

See this thread about a similar issue: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-GB/w7itproinstall/thread/281842ba-0592-4015-a27f-23bf88ddb6a6

Please check that time synchronization is made correctly. For that, start by checking that port 123 is not blocked and that the client computer is using NT5DS for time sync: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223184

    Hello,

have you deleted on that specific machine the userprofiles before this started? So it seems you didn't deleted the belonging registry keys either. This will result in problems logging again with the same user account. Cleanup can be done, on your own risk, with the great tool from Helge Klein http://helgeklein.com/free-tools/delprof2-user-profile-deletion-tool/

No user profiles have been deleted although I have done this on other computers using delprof2 as you have previously advised me.

    Hi,

Have tried leaving and rejoining domain, plus everything suggested by yourself and others; without success.  Have decided to re-load OS and start over again.
