Hi Support team
i have issue in installing VM on dell R710 Server. error given below
[Window Title]
Virtual Machine Connection[Main Instruction]
The application encountered an error while attempting to change the state of 'ENT'.[Content]
'ENT' could not initialize. The virtual machine could not be started because the hypervisor is not running.
[Expanded Information]
'ENT' could not initialize. (Virtual machine ID 398D4DDF-99A5-4561-AC81-464BE129DC1F)The virtual machine could not be started because the hypervisor is not running. The following actions may help you resolve the problem:
1) Verify that the processor of the physical computer has a supported version of hardware-assisted virtualization.
2) Verify that hardware-assisted virtualization and hardware-assisted data execution protection are enabled in the BIOS of the physical computer. (If you edit the BIOS to enable either setting, you must turn off the power to the physical computer and then turn it back on. Resetting the physical computer is not sufficient.)
3) If you have made changes to the Boot Configuration Data store, review these changes to ensure that the hypervisor is configured to launch automatically.

You will need to enable hardware virtualization and DEP withing the BIOS. These are usually found under advanced processor setting or security settings within your bios settings. Hyper-V will install without it enabled, but will not allow you to start VMs until those are enabled.
Here is some more information and direction on the adjustment.

a bit of searching on the base of the problem yields a number of answers.
These have also been filtered by Rob for you.
By the way - When you enable DEP in the BIOS you must cold boot the server. You cannot simply boot from the BIOS into the OS.
