    Hi everyone,

I have a question about which one is the best practice about hyper-v configuration that run with two guest server. I have two conditions, the first is when the electrical is stable and the secondly when the electrical is unstable. With that condition I want my two guest server can up together and smooth without sacrificing another with delay start up

For Information, My server using 12Gb of RAM, divide into two guest server, each using 10Gb and 1Gb plus also 1Gb for the host and using auto balanced processor resources

    Hi,

What you asked is not a Windows issue. If you are in a production environment, you may need to buy a UPS(Uninterrupted Power Supply).

    I'm sorry, perhaps there's a misunderstanding...

What i want to ask is what's the best practicing Guest Server setting, either using a delay start for the two guest server or resizing a memory (with the standard that my company use of course) with the condition when the electrical is stable and when the electrical is unstable. All server has also using an UPS

you can set the virtual machine to start with a delay if there are some dependency. However, what's the meaning of "resizing a memory", please provide details.

UPS should stabilize the electricity for your server but you may need to upgrade your current UPS so you do not worry about electricity stability.

As far as VMs you can delay their start up using the option shown the picture below and you can access it via the VM's settings in the section (Automatic Start Action)

As far as resizing memory for your VMs you have two options in Hyper-V R2 SP1 Static or Dynamic memory allocation for each VM and you can set this up in your VM settings in the memory section as shown in the picture

    Hopefully, this answers your question.
