- I would start by upgrading to 2010 SP1 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=50b32685-4356-49cc-8b37-d9c9d4ea3f5b since many changes, fixes and enhancements were made
- Then follow it up with applying SP1 RU2 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=0059546f-f43d-4c7e-8367-81c6d5642bf3&displaylang=en
- After applying the updates, please note that many of the commands have changed in SP1 and this article outlines the new syntax for mailbox move request as well as issues surrounding mailbox moves. I would read it thoroughly and then start the move again http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd298174.aspx

SP1 is not an option yet due to software restrictions (the software isn't installed yet). Some work and some don't. Trying again will sometimes get it to work.
One thing I noticed is old exchange is not in Exchange server group. Maybe?

Sunday, February 20, 2011 11:28 PMUpdated info - it seems to work if I move one mailbox at a time. More than one and this error comes up.

Monday, February 21, 2011 4:53 AMI read a few things about this happening if permissions are not properly set and one case where all the prerequisites were not installed. Please review this to ensure you have everything installed properly and then report back http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb691354.aspx

Were you running the move request from the 2010 box or the 2003? You should be running the move request from the 2010 server only
BTW: If you are ever in need of opening an offline EDB for Export, Recovery or Discover, check out at Lucid8's DigiScope http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp

Hi, I have some mailboxes that will not move from 2003 to 2010 sp1 suffering the error described here
where the resolution is setup an RTM 2010 installation and then move. I now get the error refeered to in this thread which tells me to upgrade to sp1 where that error is resolved

Wednesday, March 09, 2011 4:54 PMI started off as sp1 upgrading my org from 2003, ran into a problem where the apparent resolution was to move stuck mailboxes (they failed at 10%) to a 2010 rtm vesrion first and then move them on to 2010sp1 but they would not move, they passed the 10% mark but failed at 95% with the error described in this thread

So you have a mixed environment now of RTM and SP1? Just want to be clear since early on you said that you could not upgrade to SP1 because of some other software?

Wednesday, March 09, 2011 5:08 PMI now have a mixed environment but I do not require to upgrade, I have sucessfully moved most mailboxes to 2010 sp1 from 2003 but some failed with the error described in the link I cited earlier. This link suggested that I will be able to move these mailboxes to an rtm 2010 first and then move them to the 2010sp1. There is no other software involevd

Oh sorry I was mixing you up with Jim that started this thread.
1. I think you would need to make them all SP1
2. There are several rollups out there for SP1, i.e.
3. if that doesn't work for you then I would look at exporting the data to PST and then importing

The KB article listed above references a mail merge issue within Excel. Can you please check again and post the KB article that helped you resolve this issue? Thanks!
