Creating a DashBoard in SharePoint?

    Pertanyaan

  • Hello,

I am developing a team site for a company and one of the requirements is creating a dashboard or some other means of automatically updating their KPI's.  I have full access to the team site, but do not have access to the Central Administration OR the SharePoint Server.

Am I able to access Dashboard designer without access to the server? If not, are there any other options for creating a dashboard OR some means of displaying KPI's on the team site.  I have done all my SP site developing through the front of SharePoint and through SPD, but I feel like I am pretty limited without Central Admin access or access to our SharePoint server.

    What do you think?

  • Hi, In order to use Dashboard Designer i recommend you create a new Site Collection of Business Intelligence Center type.

In this template you have direct access to Dash Board Designer.

Make sure that PerformancePoint Service is Enabled in your farm (through Central Administration).

If you are thinking in SharePOint Online it isn't avaliable.

  • I recently got into creating Dashboards and I found that this was a really good tutorial to get started with:

For the first part you can just create a sub-site rather than a site collection so you won't need access to Central Admin.  You will also need to have the PerformancePoint service application running and configured.
