Can anyone please help with the following issue. I have Windows 8 Basic Edition.

I have installed a game for my son to play, I installed it under my Administrator account. The first thing I noticed is that when the shortcut for the game appears on my desktop it has the Administrator shield in the bottom right hand corner of the Icon. Other games I have installed do not have this shield on their Icon.

When I run the game under my administration account it warns me that is going to make changes to my system. I okay this and the game launches no problem. However, when you son logs in under his standard account and attempts to launch the game, it says: "Your System Administrator has blocked this program". And it just won't launch.

The only way I can get the program to launch under my son's login is to change has account type to an Administrator. Other games I have installed work just fine under my son's standard account? I would rather his account wasn't an Administrator, but at the moment that's the only way he can play the game.

Can anyone help?

Hi,

Some games may need a core component which needs admin rights to launch them, so would you please tell me what the game is, maybe we can test it in our test machine if possible, you can also check the UAC in control panel>user accounts, or you can try to install another application again, check if this issue persists.

Hi,

Many thanks for your response.

The game is Legoland.

I have tried setting UAC to it's lowest level "Never notify me" and I still get "Your System Administrator has blocked this program" each time I launch the game from a standard account.

Or do you mean I should install it with UAC set to "Never notify me"?

Hi,

I searched a lot for the game, it seems that there are many downloading link, each one is different, and I’m not sure which one to choose, but from your description, without any special action, then game was installed itself with an Administrator shield on the bottom, it might need a core component of system, so the standard user can not launch the game, can you just install another application as I mentioned in my first reply to test this issue.

I didn't download the game, I purchased it on CD ROM.

I have installed many other application and not encountered this problem.
