migrating to outlook 2010 in all organization

Hi,
We are merging two companies. In one company we want to move from express to Outlook 2010. The problem is that we dont have audit information waht office and outlook versions they are using. Could I use silent Office 2010 installation and deploy it to all computers through GPO?

This is my suggestion:
1. Use the VBscript to collect Outlook version:
Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
set myoL = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
Set ts = fso.OpenTextFile("\\Netpath\1.txt", 8, False)
ts.WriteLine (vbCr & myOL.version)2. Deploy Outlook 2010 with OCT:
