    Sequencer Version: 4.6 Sp1
    App-V Client Version Tested On: 4.6 Sp1
    Operating System Sequenced On: Windows 7 Enterprise x86
    Prerequisites: Copy the media locally, CA ODBC drivers installed before sequencing (and on the target systems)
    Client Operating Systems Successfully Deployed To: Windows 7 Enterprise x86

    Sequencing

    1)Log on with administrative credentials (ensure the prerequisites are ready (listed above) before starting the sequencer)

    2)Open the App-V 4.6 SP1 Sequencer

    3)(Optional) On the Tools menu, click Options.

    4)(Optional) Check the box Allow all named objects and COM objects to interact with the local system

    5)(Optional) Click OK button

    Begin Packaging Method

    6)Select Create a New Virtual Application Package

    7)Select Create Package (Default) then click Next

    8)Ensure System is ready to create a virtual package, no issues were detected, then click Next

    Type of Application

    9)Select Standard Application (default) then click Next

    Select Installer

    10)Browse to application installation file and click Open (INSTALL.EXE within the CCI folder)

    11)Click Next

    Package Name

    12)Type the Virtual Application Package Name

    13)Click Next

    Application Installation

    1. Follow the prompts changing the destination directories to Q:\Program Files\CA_APPSW and Q:\Program Files\CAICCI
    2. When prompted Select Yes to configure now
    3. On the TCP/IP tab enter the IP and FQDN and click Apply
    4. Click Next
    5. Install the next component - Setup.exe within the Cavx directory
    6. Select Typical Install
    7. Click Next
    8. Change the install directory to the designated subdirectory on Q:
    9. Follow the prompts and finally click Finish
    10. Launch Visual Express Reporter (to setup ODBC connection)
    11. Select File - Setup - ODBC Administrator
    12. Click the System DSN tab - then Add
    13. Select CA-Datacom/DB - then Finish
    14. Click OK
    15. Configure connection appropriately
    16. (Optional) Check Autoconnect
    17. Click OK
    18. Close Visual Express Reporter

    Installation

    14)Select I am finished installing

    15)Click Next

    Configure Software

    16)Click Next (unless setting up first feature block which was not tested)

    Installation Report

    17)Check the error report by double-clicking any entries.

    18)Click Next

    Customize

    19)Select Stop Now (unless customization is needed)

    20)Click Next

    21)OUTSIDE OF SEQUENCER: Set the Users:Full permission on the file Q:\<designated subdirectory>\VFS\CAVXPRSS.ini

    Create Package

    22)Browse to an appropriate location, click Create

    23)Click Close
