Windows 7 Not running a valid copy Error Code 0x8004fe21

I have been getting this error for more than a month. I took the machine into Best Buy for repair. They have determined that I do have a valid copy of Windows. I did some research on my own through googleing (sp) the error code. I reported my results to Best Buy after they could not find any reason for this error. They removed SP1 from my updates and the error has gone away. I was also able to download and install Microsoft updates after removing SP1.
I cannot prove this as I am not a techie, but I suspect Microsoft has a bug in the SP1 update that is corrupting the vaildation.
If anyone can get Microsoft to step up and take ownership of their software, perhaps we can all get back to our work.
As of now all my updates have installed properly as long as I do NOT run the SP1 update to Windows 7

I would suggest you to run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostics Tool and copy and paste the results in a reply for further analysis:

OK, I've copied the results, Who can give me an answer ???
Since removing SP1 I have been able to install 19 Windows updates without failure. These are the same updates I could not load with SP1 installed.
All other OS functions appear normal without SP1
