    Hello support-team,

I have installed WindowsXPMode_de-de.exe (XP Pro SP 3) on Windows 7 (64-bit) German edition.

I can install all my XP programs under Virtual PC nicely.

My problem now is, that the language and keyboard settings are only kept in Virtual PC, but not in XP Mode, see picture.

When I start a program in XP mode the language is forced to English and a english(USA) keyboard layout. I have always to switch manually to my home language (Deutsch(Deutschland)), when I start XP Mode the first time or when an new window from a program opens.

    Is there a fix?

    Thanks,

    Stefan

    Hi,

We can set the default language in XP Mode.

Please launch XP Mode, and edit the settings in “Control Panel—Regional and Language Options—Languages—Text Services and Input Languages” as the screenshot below:

Note: You should set Deutsch(Deutschland) as default input language.

    Hi Kim,

thank you. And yes, I know this and I have already set the langugage to German in Windows Vitual PC itself. The language stays German in Virtual PC, when I don't switch on "Integrationfeatures".

My problem is, that when I start a program in Windows 7 in XP Mode the language and keyboard for the program are always set back to English.

Have you an idea for this?

    Thanks,

    Stefan

P.S.: Another thing is, that when I switch "Integrationfeatures" on, the language is automaticaly set back in Virtual PC to English.

    Hi Kim,

I have now found in this forum an article about setting the following registry entry IgnoreRemoteKeyboardLayout. This fixed my language problem.

    Thank you again,

    Stefan
