Add Roles and Features is greyed out in Server Manager of my newly installed Windows Server 2008 R2 standard?

I have run through the Initial Configuration tasks. I now want to add .NET 3.5 and IIS however both the Add Roles and Add Features are greyed out. This is on my newly installed Windows Server 2008 R2 standard.
I have run the update tool but it tells me the update is not for my product.
I saw 'package_for_KB2522422' in a log, I copied the CAB and MUM file to the servicing directory but I get the same problem in Initial Config or in Server Manager.
While I wait for a response I will go through the update steps once again. Maybe I missed a step.

Hi,
According to your description, this problem is due to some of the CAB and MUM files were corrupt.
1. You can check the Servermanagerlogs in the following path: C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\Temp\ServerManager.Log (assuming C: is the install drive, and you are logged on as an administrator on the server).
Then you can find the key words “False”, ”Error” items. Please post here.
2. You can download System Update Readiness Tool, try to run checksur and find out “Unavailable repair files”.
“Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7, and for Windows Server 2008 R2”

Then download and extract the above“Unavailable repair files” KB files. Follow the following article to extract the KBs:

- Replace the missing CAB and MUM files.
- Check the server manager and try again to see if the same issue still exsists.
