How do Disable Hotkeys in Internet Explorer 10?

  • I am looking to disable or change F1 one hotkey, I use it in programs and while using Internet Explorer 10 it opens keeps opening help page many times.

    Using Windows 7.

    Instructions how to turn this hotkey/shortcut off would be greatly appreciated.

    I would take the tack of changing the definition of the key.   E.g. if you have a Microsoft keyboard you could use its keyboard macro facility to do that.   Notice that you can do it on an application basis.  You can disable the key, which would be a much simpler, less invasive solution than those other ones I saw suggested for doing that.  Alternatively, you can find other third-party solutions on this tack which are even more powerful than Microsoft's.  And of course if your keyboard is not a Microsoft keyboard then you should investigate what options your manufacturer provides.

    BTW IMO this question really has more to do with Hardware or the OS than with IE.
