    Hi Jim,

    Just to be sure:

    1. You have created a test collection with both a desktop and a test server (which are member of your domain?)
    2. You advertised the FEP installer to that test collection.

I have a couple of questions:

    1. Is the SCCM client installed on both the desktop and the test server?
    2. Is the FEP package distributed to your SCCM Distribution point?
    3. Do you have configured an action account with local administrator permissions on both the desktop and the test server?

    Kind regards,

    Bart Timmermans

    Hi Jim.

To successfully deploy FEP, your SCCM should have healthy Software distribution and Software update point. i recommend you to first troubleshoot on Software distribution.

    1. create test collection
    2. Create a Test package
    3. Distribute Test package to a distribution point.
    4. Create a advertiesment which specify the package and test collection. use mandatory assign
    5. trigger the machine policy cycle on the test client.
    6. use TRACE to read client log files.
    7. Read Execmgr.log CcmExec.log and check CAS.log (Downloading the package) for any errors. you can see the progress of the software distribution by these logs.

Post any errors with these logs.

    Hey All,

I aplogize for the late response.  I was off for a few days.  Using the blog http://markswinkels.nl/2009/10/how-to-sccm-2007-client-push-installation/ I was able to verify that the SCCm client did push ok, and then went to program manager and opened advertised programs and the FEP install was there.  We are currently running Forefront Client Security with MOM and the docs say that the FEP install should uninstalls those two programs and then install FEP however, that does not appear to be correct.  After manually un-installing FCS and MOM the advertisement took off and thew FEP client was installed.

I have over 100 systems that I need to install the client on, will I have tomanually remove FCS and MOM to make this happen?  That will &^%$

    TIA,

    Jim

    Hi Jim,

    Thank you for the post.

The FEP client software uninstalls the FCS client software before installing.
Please read the FCS to FEP migration guide.
