I prefer the old navigation method for the product downloads and product keys.  If it's here to stay, how about a Beta top level item so you can find pre-release code easily?

It's confusing to have a new product on the top subscriber download section, but not in its normal (expected) place with the other product downloads.  This makes it hard for customers to find the download.  Examples include Windows Vista SP1 and Windows XP SP3.

Thanks Keith.  I will pass this along directly to the subscriptions team.

We have heard the feedback on improving the subscriptions download control and are actively working on fixing it.   In fact, our lead developer has provided a preview of a new format and posted a feedback survey in our MSDN Subscriptions Blog as it is the same control used in both MSDN and TechNet subscription programs.  Check out the preview: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/downloads/bb980945.aspx  and feel free to provide your feedback in the on the new approach in the survey http://blogs.msdn.com/msdnsubscriptions/pages/instasurvey-7000.aspx.  Results from the survey are also being posted at the MSDN Subscriptions Blog.  We'll continue to post progress on that blog.

What I would like to see different at TechNet is to structure the page layout and TechNet site giving the people, if just to see their reaction, based an optional 3 page width and depending on the length of the page, adding a two page total height. In short, either three to six pages within one page layout. I've been working the idea for about 3 years but I figure if a Microsoft team were to be put work(on the idea), it would change the Web.

All the best with the new site, regards,
    Peter Bisson

I've always hated the habit of having "Russian Doll" pages in TechNet Online. You know, the kind where you open one doll to find another doll; open that and there's another one etc. etc. ("Pass the parcel" if you remember that kids game - it's the same thing)

In other words the habit (not universal - that would be too easy but often enough to be annoying) of having a TechNet On-line page that consists (if you are lucky) of a couple of lines and then 4-6 links to the next level of pages.

When you follow these links, chances are that are least one of those links goes to a page that consists  (if you are lucky) of a couple of lines and then 4-6 links to the next level of pages.

Often it stops there (with three levels) but I'm sure (in my nightmares?) that I've seen even deeper threads.

The really annoying thing is that sometimes when you finally get to the bottom level page all there is is a single paragraph ...

P.S. Or do you mean a different TechNet Online ? The description of this forum does not in my opinion give any clues. I mean the TechNet documentation you can access when connected to the Internet (=On-line) rather than by downloading something and not the TechNet subscription. The forum description does NOT say anything about subscriptions ...

Be able to know in one place what TechNet Plus information is also available for the public elsewhere (on Microsoft, etc.) or can only be seen with a subscription.  Would help us with duplication of our monthly updates.  For example, is the June 2009 Technical Information Library only available in our subscription, or can it be viewed by other means by the public.  I can understand the Downloads, Evaluations, etc.  Just curious...   Thanks very much!
